Born in Poland, Maria Charlotta became the wife of King Louis XV in 1725 and was known for her grace, intelligence, and devotion to her family. As queen consort, she played an influential role in French court life while remaining largely out of the political spotlight. Van Loo, renowned for his exquisite portraiture, masterfully captured her regal beauty and poise, embodying the elegance of the Rococo period. This print beautifully preserves both the dignity of the queen and the artist’s refined technique.
